Coconut Water & Chlorophyll as a Blood Transfusion?

Apparently, in WWII Coconut Water was used for blood transfusions in soldiers & saved many lives.

Drinking a mixture of 55% Coconut Water & 45% Chlorophyll (plant blood) is suppose to be an instant blood transfusion!

By drinking this concoction you can help to re-build your blood!

This is helpful to know when suffering from blood diseases/issues.

According to my cousin Justin who is in the army, this still gets taught to use as plasma!

You can buy 100% coconut water in many health food shops or could even buy a coconut and use the fresh coconut water, which is even better!

Then juice loads of greens such as kale, spinach….. then add spirulina or supergreens and some ice, and voila!

According to Ravishing Raw , our blood exists of about 55% of plasma (about the same structure as coconut water) and 45% of hemoglobin (for the transportation of oxygen).

This hemoglobin is “essentially transformed plant blood”, chlorophyll.

So this means that when you make yourself a drink of fresh coconut water (55% plasma) mixed with fresh green leaf juice or the by Dr. Ann Wigmore recommended wheatgrass juice (45% hemoglobin), you will treat your body on a blood transfusion.

Isn’t this amazingly!

Kohlrabi Raw Food Recipe

Kohlrabi_recipeOn Saturday i went to my local farmers market and spotted a vegetable i’d not come across, the Kohlrabi.

This was a new vegetable too me, so being an adventurous type i bought it!

The Kohlrabi is part of the cabbage family but has a very hard skin.

You need to chop off the leaves, which i recommend you add to you’re green juice at breakfast, and then peel off the Kohlrabi skin with a knife.

Kohlrabi_RecipesThen chop the Kohlrabi into chip looking shape and eat them raw!

You can also slice them & add to a salad, or i like to dip them in a little lemon, extra virgin olive oil (ideally first press from Italy – my favourite!) & mineralised salt.

Another option is to add some pepper and coriander, to give a stronger flavour and add that extra goodness.

Voila!

Raw Food Shopping

Waitrose_Organic_Raw_FoodsRaw food shopping has changed over the last few years. Where once it was impossible to buy raw food already prepared, it is now a lot easier with main major supermarkets stocking raw food items.

When buying your raw food, of course, ideally you want it to be organic.

Look for the organic section in the fruit and vegetable sections; the price may be higher, however, you will need less of it as often it can taste fresher and retain more natural nutrients. I also recommend you look in the bargain section of the supermarket, as i often find organic food is discounted and becomes cheaper than non-organic fruit and vegetables.

Whilst raw food shopping in the supermarkets i recommend you look for the raw food section, increasingly the major supermarkets have raw food departments and stock: raw chocolate, Food Doctor raw seeds & nuts, sprouts (i recommend you use a sprout maker & make your own), nut butter, dehydrated raw snacks etc

The best place to buy raw food in the UK are:

  • Local Farmers Markets
  • Riverfords Online for delivery

It is important that you buy fresh fruit and vegetables, hence i buy most of mine from the local farmers markets. Im British, so buying local and buying British is important to me. This also means you buy seasonal produce. In the winter in England when its cold, you have more earth vegetables such as carrots, squash, whilst in the summer its berries and soft fruits. This also fits with the vitamins and minerals that your’e body naturally needs in each season.

I find some raw food recipes are really simple, but some have a lot of different ingredients, and by missing 1 ingredient it can make the difference between tasty raw food and well, lets put it this way, even my dog wouldnt eat it! For example, the other day i replaced white cabbage for purple cabbage and forgot the cashew nuts in the Vitamix Thai Soup recipe! 

So, always remember to take a raw food shopping list!



Green Smoothie With Banana

Green smoothie with bananas, grapes, spinach and pineapple!

This is a really tasty smoothie, which i enjoy as an evening meal.

Having the banana in it gives it a thickness, whilst the pineapple adds sweetness.

Raw Food Recipe:

Use the Vitamix Blender 5200

  • 2 cups (60 g) fresh spinach
  • 1/2 cup (75 g) pineapple
  • 1 cup (180 g) green grapes
  • 1/2 banana
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) water
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) ice

1. Place all ingredients into the Vitamix blender container and secure two-part lid.

2. Select VARIABLE, Speed #1.

3. Turn machine ON and quickly increase to VARIABLE #10 and then to HIGH. If necessary, use the tamper to press any ingredients into the blades while processing.

4. Run for 1 minute, or until smooth.

Raw Food Recipe With Cayenne Pepper

Cayenne pepper is a red hot chilli pepper and a wonderful source of vitamin C and Vitamin C - also contains vitamin B6, vitamin E, vitamin C, riboflavin, potassium and manganese. Cayenne pepper is also known as a male aphrodisiac because it contains capsaicin which can increase blood flow to all parts of the body. It is known in many cultures to be a potent libido enhancing aid that increases euphoric endorphins in the blood stream.

Use Raw Food Juicer

  • Spinach 2 handfuls
  • Celery 1/2 stick
  • Ginger 1 inch
  • Banana 1
  • Apple 1
  • Water 1/4 cup
  • Teaspoon Spirulina (optional)
  • Cayenne Pepper (i used powered Cayenne & sprinkle to taste)

All quantities you can vary to suit youre preferred taste!

I love the kick of the cayenne in this raw food smoothie.
